Three Indian Prairie School District 204 students will compete at an international robotics final in Puerto Rico in December after winning a national championship.

Still Middle School seventh graders Ishaan Menon and Adhrit Nagelli and White Eagle Elementary fourth grader Avi Nagelli earned first place in the 2026 World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Robo Mission elementary division, as first reported by NCTV17. The win qualifies them for the WRO 2026 International Final, scheduled for Dec. 8–10 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to the WRO Association.

The team is young. Avi Nagelli is a fourth grader. His teammates are in seventh grade.

District 204 board member Andrew Bernard congratulated the students at a board meeting, describing the work behind the win as requiring "creativity, engineering, coding, problem-solving and teamwork."

The three competed in the WRO's 2026 season theme, called "Robots Meet Culture," which the WRO Association says asks teams to explore how robots can help shape, protect and grow art and culture. Teams qualify for the International Final through national-level WRO competitions in their home countries.

District 204 recognized the students in a Sept. 29 Instagram post naming all three winners.

The International Final in San Juan runs Dec. 8–10.
