Naperville North's Ally Andrews and Keira Preiss are moving on in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) postseason after qualifying for the Class 2A Sectional out of a 10-team Regional field.

The two Huskies competed Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien. Naperville North Athletics said on X that the team played well at Carriage Greens, with Andrews and Preiss named as the two golfers advancing.

They will tee it up Monday, Oct. 5, at the Orland Park (Sandburg) Sectional, held at Silver Lake Country Club's North Course, 14700 S. 82nd Ave., Orland Park. A strong Sectional finish would send them to the Class 2A State Final at Hickory Point Golf Course in Forsyth.

The Regional bracket was loaded with familiar opponents. Andrews and Preiss competed against golfers from Naperville Central, Metea Valley, Waubonsie Valley, Hinsdale Central, Benet Academy, Downers Grove North, Downers Grove South, Hinsdale South and West Aurora, according to IHSA assignment records. Naperville Central also competed at Carriage Greens but was not named among those advancing in the Naperville North announcement.

Andrews, a sophomore, posted strong numbers during the DuPage Valley Conference (DVC) regular season. In a Sept. 15 match at White Eagle Golf Club, she carded three birdies and shot a 48, the second-best round for Naperville North that day, NCTV17 reported. Neuqua Valley won that match 190-202.

The Huskies hosted the DVC Tournament at Phillips Park on Wednesday, Sept. 23, before turning their attention to the IHSA postseason.
