Naperville toddlers get two weeks of dino digs, train rides and story time starting Monday, Sept. 21, at the DuPage Children's Museum in downtown Naperville.

The museum's Toddler Takeover runs weekdays through Friday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 301 N. Washington St., Naperville Patch reported. Activities include sticker making, story time, dino digs and rides on the DCM Express Train PopUp. No separate ticket or registration is required. Everything is included with regular museum admission.

Pediatricians from Duly Health and Care will lead four story-time sessions at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, Friday, Sept. 25, Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Friday, Oct. 2. The sessions cover healthy hygiene habits and how to be brave when visiting the doctor.

That gives families two chances per week to catch a pediatrician-led reading before the program wraps.

"Toddlers are incredible explorers. They're constantly testing, moving, repeating, experimenting, and figuring out what they can do," Cassie Coffey, director of playful experiences at the museum, said in a Sept. 17 statement.

Coffey added that the program "gives them the time and space to follow that curiosity at their own pace, while giving caregivers a chance to see just how much learning can happen through play."

The museum sits a short walk from the Naperville Metra BNSF station, making it reachable without a car. Free parking is also available on site.

Admission is listed at $19 per person on the Discover DuPage visitor site, with children under one year admitted free. The Discover DuPage listing also recommends pre-registering at dupagechildrens.org to guarantee general museum admission. Families can call 630-637-8000 to confirm current pricing and availability.

The Toddler Takeover is geared toward younger children, but the museum has not published an age cutoff for the program. The two-week run ends Friday, Oct. 2.
