Naperville residents can see original artwork honoring veterans, active military and first responders starting Tuesday, Nov. 3, when the Art League opens its "Heroes" exhibit.
"Heroes, a Tribute to Those Who Serve" runs through Nov. 13 at the Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery, 508 N. Center St., according to Positively Naperville. The show features entries from both League members and community residents, according to an Arts DuPage event listing.
The Naperville Art League, a volunteer-run nonprofit, invited area artists to submit original work for the show at no cost. NAL members could enter up to two pieces, and non-members could submit one. A Viewers' Choice award is the only prize, and artwork in the show can be for sale. NCTV17 also reported on the call for submissions in October.
The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Handicap parking is available at the rear of the building, and city sidewalks nearby are ramped, according to the Naperville Art League's website.
