Bratwurst, schnitzel and a stein-holding contest are headed back to Naper Settlement's 13-acre campus when the museum's annual Oktoberfest opens Friday, Oct. 2.

The two-day festival runs 5-10 p.m. Oct. 2 and 3-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at 523 S. Webster St. Tickets cost $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 4-12, according to a Chicago Tribune Oktoberfest roundup that listed Naper Settlement as the only Naperville celebration among 28 Chicagoland events.

All events take place under a giant heated tent. Friday's lineup features traditional Oompah music, while Saturday expands to a mix of Oompah, modern polka, pop and country, according to the city's events calendar. Cover band Fool House closes out Saturday night with its "Wow That's What I Call 90's Tour" set from 8-10 p.m.

The food lineup includes German staples like bratwurst, schnitzel and pretzels alongside Oktoberfest beers from German and local breweries. Naper Settlement promoted the event on X as featuring a wide Oktoberfest beer selection, with food from local restaurants and food trucks.

Families with younger kids will find lawn games, children's activities and a professional pumpkin carver on site, according to a preview on Naperville.com.

Oktoberfest is the first of three fall events at Naper Settlement. The campus also hosts Howlin' at the Moon on Oct. 23-24 and the new Family Spooktacular on Oct. 24-25. Naper Settlement posted a volunteer call for all three events on Sept. 8.
