Republican Sean T. Noonan faces Democrat Peter Joseph Coolidge for DuPage County Sheriff on November 3, 2026, according to the county’s official candidate listing.

Law-enforcement and county experience

Noonan’s campaign biography describes more than 24 years in law enforcement, much of it with the Bloomingdale Police Department, where he rose to sergeant. It says he is currently a sworn officer in Oakbrook Terrace.

His campaign also describes eight years on the County Board, including experience reviewing the sheriff’s budget, staffing and capital requests. It lists a master’s degree in public safety administration and training in crisis intervention and community policing.

Plans as sheriff

His campaign platform calls for data-driven crime prevention, cooperation with municipal police and first responders, deputy recruitment and retention, and professional development.

Noonan also proposes public dashboards and community briefings so residents can see how resources are used. He says enforcement should protect victims, uphold due process and combine accountability with compassion. These descriptions come from his own campaign materials.
