Naperville residents can sit down with Police Chief Jason Arres over coffee on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Arres and other Naperville police officers will be at Sweet Toast Café, 2035 S. Washington St., #135, from noon to 1:30 p.m. for the latest installment of the department's "Chat with the Chief" series. The event is free, drop-in and open without registration.
The city describes the format as informal conversation rather than a presentation. There is no set agenda. Residents can stop by any time during the 90-minute window to ask questions, raise concerns or introduce themselves to officers.
"Community policing starts with conversation, and I always appreciate the opportunity to sit down with residents and hear directly from them," Arres said in the city's Oct. 6 announcement. "Whether you have a question, a concern, an idea, or simply want to get to know some of the people who serve your community, we'd like to see you."
The Oct. 14 session is the fourth Chat with the Chief this year. Previous stops rotated across the city: Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea in downtown Naperville on March 6, Stan's Donuts on Route 59 on May 6 and Arwa Yemeni Coffee on South Route 59 on July 21.
Sweet Toast Café sits along the Washington Street corridor on Naperville's south side. Business owners interested in hosting a future Chat with the Chief can email [email protected].
