Naperville North's girls swimming and diving team completed the DuPage Valley Conference Championships at Neuqua Valley and now turns to postseason mode.
The Huskies' next meet is the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Sectional at Metea Valley High School (1801 N Eola Rd) on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Naperville North Athletics said on X that the team delivered "strong performances across the pool and off the boards" at the conference meet, which began with diving on Friday, Oct. 23.
Specific team placement and individual results from the 2026 DVC Championships have not been publicly released as of Monday, Oct. 26. SwimCloud results show Neuqua Valley finished first, but complete scoring was not available.
A loaded sectional field
The IHSA's sectional assignments place all five Naperville-area high schools in the same Metea Valley sectional. Naperville Central, Neuqua Valley, Waubonsie Valley and Metea Valley will join the Huskies, along with Bolingbrook, Oswego East, Plainfield North, West Aurora, Sandwich, Marmion Academy, Illinois Math and Science Academy, Rosary and Wheaton St. Francis. Mark Jager is listed as the sectional manager.
That concentration means Naperville families could see familiar rivals racing side by side for state-qualifying spots in a single afternoon.
Season context
The Huskies entered the DVC Championships with a mixed regular-season conference record. Naperville North beat Metea Valley 95-75 in a September road meet, where sophomore Delaney Lund won the 100-yard breaststroke and Sofie Rutkowski took the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, NCTV17 reported.
North fell to Naperville Central 111-75 in the crosstown DVC opener, according to NCTV17. Lund won the 200 freestyle at 2:03.09 in that meet, and freshman Ella Hanson took the 100-yard butterfly.
Waubonsie Valley topped the Huskies 116-70 on Senior Night, NCTV17 reported. Lund still claimed wins in the 50-yard free (24.83 seconds) and the 500-yard freestyle that evening.
Last year, Naperville North won the DVC Championship outright with 289 points, ahead of Waubonsie Valley (256) and Neuqua Valley (252.50), according to NCTV17's October 2025 coverage.
What's next
Top finishers at the Saturday, Nov. 7 sectional at Metea Valley advance to the IHSA State Finals.
