Hundreds of Naperville North student-athletes are reporting to gyms, fields and courses Monday, Aug. 10, for the first tryouts and practices of the fall season. They can't step on the court without paperwork in hand.
The Naperville North Athletics department confirmed that most Huskie fall sports programs begin Monday, three days before District 203's first day of school on Thursday, Aug. 13. Cross country, soccer, volleyball, tennis, golf and other non-football programs are all launching. Football started earlier, on Aug. 5.
Monday is an Institute Day for D203 teachers, meaning student-athletes at the 2,467-student school are the first ones back on campus.
What families need on file
Before any student-athlete can attend a tryout or practice, two items must be on file with the Athletic Department:
- Completed registration
- A current physical
The athletics department posted a three-item checklist for families over the weekend: confirm registration is complete, confirm the physical is on file, and review the correct start time and location for your sport.
Monday start times (confirmed programs)
- Volleyball: 8 a.m. at Timberline gym, with a second session at 5:30 p.m.
- Golf: Tryouts at 2:30 p.m., with an evening session from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Lakeview Stadium
- Cross country: Begins Monday through Tuesday, Aug. 11
Start times and locations for all programs are published in a graphic on the athletics department's social media accounts. Full registration forms, instructions and resources are available at linktr.ee/HuskieAthletes.
Didn't make the cut?
Students who are not selected for a limited-roster sport may join one of Naperville North's open-roster fall programs, according to the athletics department.
