Two Naperville playgrounds get their official welcome party on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The Naperville Park District will host back-to-back ribbon-cutting ceremonies at Fox Hill Greens and Queensbury Greens, the district announced on X. The Fox Hill Greens ceremony starts at 4:30 p.m., followed by Queensbury Greens at 5 p.m. Queensbury Greens is at 1520 Brookdale Road.

The two playgrounds are part of a broader 2026 renovation push by the district. Fox Hill Greens wrapped construction between March and May. The playground has been open since then, according to the park district's project page. The ribbon-cutting is a formal community celebration, not an opening day.

Queensbury Greens had a longer timeline. Construction ran from June 15 through Sept. 1, according to the park's project page. Jessica Burgdorf, the park district's project contact for the Queensbury renovation, is listed on that page for questions.

The Sept. 15 events follow the same playbook the district used for Burr Oak Park, which held its own ribbon cutting on July 14 with light refreshments. The district has not said whether refreshments will be offered at the Fox Hill Greens or Queensbury Greens events.

Beyond those two parks, the district's 2026 renovation program spans several other sites. Knoch Park, Apache Park and Wil-O-Way Park are also on the list. Legislative committee minutes from May noted grant-funded renovation work at Kroehler Park, Rose Hill Farms Park, West Greens and Willowgate Square as well.

The park district has not released cost figures for the Fox Hill Greens or Queensbury Greens projects. Bid results for both renovations are posted on the district's bid page, but cost figures do not appear in the public listings.

The next regular meeting of the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners is Thursday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. at Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Drive.
