The Naperville Park District closes the Riverwalk Community Center parking lot at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, for the Naperville Jaycees' Last Fling festival.
The lot at 305 W. Jackson Ave. and the adjacent Park District Administration Building lot at 320 W. Jackson Ave. will stay closed until Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to the Park District's holiday announcement. The Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center itself shuts down Wednesday, Sept. 2, through Monday, Sept. 7.
Last Fling runs Friday, Sept. 4, through Monday, Sept. 7, with a carnival, live entertainment, food and family activities. As we reported Aug. 27, the festival's Labor Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. Sept. 7 from Naperville North High School and travels through downtown. Festival proceeds benefit local nonprofits.

Fort Hill Activity Center (20 Fort Hill Drive): Regular hours Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6. Open 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7.
Centennial Beach (500 W. Jackson Ave.): Saturday, Sept. 5, Adult Float 9–10:55 a.m., Open Swim 11 a.m. to dusk. Sunday, Sept. 6, Adult Float 9–10:55 a.m., Open Swim 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, Adult Float (members only) 9–10:55 a.m., Open Swim 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Paddleboat Quarry (441 Aurora Ave.): Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday through Monday.
Springbrook Golf Course (2220 83rd St.) and Naperbrook Golf Course (22204 W. 111th St./Hassert Blvd.): Regular hours Saturday through Monday.
Sportsman's Park Trapshooting Range (735 S. West St.): Regular hours Saturday through Monday.
Knoch Knolls Nature Center (320 Knoch Knolls Road): Open Saturday, Sept. 5, at regular hours. Closed Sunday, Sept. 6, and Monday, Sept. 7.

Karen Coleman, Last Fling Public Relations Chair for the Naperville Jaycees, said in an Aug. 11 volunteer appeal that "donating 4-5 hours of your time will make a difference for your community."
Both lots reopen Sept. 8.
