Naper Settlement's Oktoberfest is back for two days this fall, giving Naperville families a reason to mark Friday, Oct. 2, and Saturday, Oct. 3, on the calendar right now.

The outdoor history museum at 523 S. Webster St. will host the festival inside a large tent on its 13-acre downtown campus, with traditional German food, beer, live music, and activities spread across both days. Naper Settlement bills the event as its official fall-season kickoff.
Saturday night brings a headliner: Fool House performs its "Wow That's What I Call 90's Tour" from 8 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 3. No specific Friday evening act has been announced yet.
Tickets and cost
Tickets are available at napersettlement.org/Oktoberfest. Adults pay $25, youth ages 4–12 pay $15, and children under 4 get in free. Naper Settlement members receive complimentary admission.
The museum announced the event on its official social media account July 30, promising German cuisine and beer overflowing inside the giant tent alongside live music and activities for both days.
Oktoberfest is the first of three fall events at Naper Settlement. Howlin' at the Moon, the adults-only Halloween bash, follows Oct. 23–24. Before that, the museum closes out summer with its USA 250 Hometown Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as we reported July 22.

Sunday, Aug. 9 — Naperville Neighborly Day. West Chicago Avenue between Washington and Main streets, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free. The block party formerly known as Old Naperville Day returns after a two-year hiatus during the Washington Street bridge repairs. Live music all day, with proceeds supporting DuPagePads' mission to end homelessness. Chad Pedigo, DuPagePads' chief development officer, said in a July 28 announcement that the event "directly helps local families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Naperville and across our community."
Friday, Aug. 14, and Saturday, Aug. 15 — Final Naper Nights. Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St., 5–10 p.m. $25 adults, $15 kids 4–12, free for kids 3 and under and members. The last two concerts of the summer series feature Dan Peters Band and JUMP (Van Halen tribute) on Friday, and Sparks Fly (Taylor Swift tribute) and Made in America (Toby Keith tribute) on Saturday.
