Naper Settlement hosts a World Wars history presentation on Thursday, Oct. 8, as part of its year-long USA 250 lecture series.
The evening session, titled "Your Friendly Neighborhood Historian: You Think You Know…The World Wars," runs from 7 to 8 p.m. at the museum, 523 S. Webster St. The presentation digs into lesser-known aspects of both conflicts, according to the museum's program page.
Dr. Andrea Field, Naper Settlement's Curator of History, leads the series alongside visiting local historians, with each session examining misunderstood or overlooked chapters of American history to mark the nation's 250th anniversary. Field was selected as a fellow for the American Association for State and Local History's 2025 History Leadership Institute.
Tickets cost $10 per person.
The event is open to ages 14 and older. Attendees may earn 1.0 Continuing Professional Development Unit (CPDU) credit. Registration is available on Naper Settlement's website.
Naper Settlement's "We the People: Naperville and the American Story" exhibit is also open through December and included with museum admission.
