Naperville shoppers will have a Tuesday afternoon market again starting June 30, when the Naper Settlement Farmers Market opens its third season at 523 S. Webster St.

The market runs every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. through September 22, operated by Bensidoun USA, the family company that manages nearly 100 markets across the U.S. and Europe, including weekly markets in Wheaton, Geneva, and Lisle. Christina Cahill, Bensidoun USA's director of marketing, told the Naperville Sun the season is essentially full.

"We're booked pretty much all season," Cahill said. "We have a lot of new vendors this year."

More than 30 vendors are confirmed, including Tamales Express, Maddy Kakes Bakery, Everette's Coffee, Pet Wants Naperville, and a newcomer called Avocado Theory, a guacamole bar that Cahill said crossed over from Bensidoun's Wheaton market. Other confirmed names include Creative Clay Creations, Kaizen Baby, Serendipity, and Evergreen Moments.

Cahill said Bensidoun gives farmers priority placement and reduced fees to keep produce vendors in the mix alongside artisan sellers.

Beyond shopping, the market offers live bluegrass, folk, and jazz music from 4 to 7 p.m. and hour-long educational classes from 5 to 6 p.m. The June 30 opener features "Backyard Chickens for Beginners." July classes cover water bath canning, beekeeping, and cold brew teas from Mahal Tea Company. A new "Down on the Farm Hour" adds free family performances and story time.

Admission to Naper Settlement's 13-acre campus is free during market hours, including access to historic buildings and the new "We the People: Naperville and the American Story" exhibit.

The Tuesday market complements the longer-running Naperville Farmers Market at Fifth Avenue Station, which operates Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon with 70 vendors through November. Together, they give Naperville residents two market days a week through summer.

Naper Settlement's market is tied to the museum's Mary and Richard Benck Family Agriculture Center, a 4,000-square-foot facility that opened in April 2023.
