Democrat Ian Holzhauer faces Republican Chris Jacks for the four-year District 5 seat on the DuPage County Board in the November 3, 2026 election. The county’s official listing distinguishes this contest from the separate two-year District 5 race.
Naperville and military service
Holzhauer’s campaign biography says he was first elected to Naperville City Council in 2021 and previously chaired the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce board. He served as an Air Force attorney from 2007 to 2014 and is a partner at Concierge Law, by Campbell Holzhauer.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from Georgetown University.
County-board priorities
On his current campaign issues page, Holzhauer emphasizes accessible public spaces, inclusive community programs, mental-health personnel and cleaner energy sources. He cites his support for lead-water-service-line replacement and says he wants to extend his approach to quality of life to more county residents.
His public-safety proposals emphasize specialized mental-health response teams and training and equipment for police and fire services. He presents these as extensions of his municipal experience.
