Buy ice cream, support local history. That's the pitch from the Naperville Heritage Society, which is hosting a fundraiser at Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams on Thursday, July 16, from 2 to 5 p.m.

During that three-hour window, 25% of all sales at the downtown Naperville shop will go directly to the Heritage Society, the nonprofit behind Naper Settlement. No tickets, no registration. Just show up and order.

Naper Settlement announced the event on its social media accounts Monday, June 22. The Heritage Society, incorporated as a nonprofit in 1969, funds education and preservation programs at Naper Settlement, the 13-acre outdoor history museum on South Webster Street.

Jeni's is located at 218 S. Main St. in downtown Naperville. The shop is open Thursday through Sunday starting at 11 a.m. For questions, call 630-506-8005.

Accessibility details for the shop have not been posted publicly. Anyone needing accommodations can call ahead.
