Naperville juniors can take a free, proctored PSAT/NMSQT practice test on Saturday, Sept. 26, two weeks before the official exam hits District 203 high schools.

The 150-minute practice session, hosted by Naperville tutoring company My2tor, runs at 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. at 2132 Deep Water Lane, Suite 216. Each session is capped at eight students. Participants receive a score report afterward, according to a Patch community listing for the event.

There is no cost.

The practice test falls two weeks before the District 203 official PSAT and three weeks before District 204's. District 203 students at Naperville North and Naperville Central High Schools are scheduled to take the official PSAT on Friday, Oct. 9. District 204 students at Neuqua Valley and Metea Valley High Schools follow on Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to the event listing. Neither district has independently confirmed those dates on its public calendar as of Monday, Sept. 21.

The junior-year PSAT doubles as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. In Illinois, the Selection Index cutoff for National Merit Semifinalist status was 218 for the Class of 2027, according to Compass Education Group's analysis. The estimated cutoff range for the Class of 2028, taking the test this fall, is 217 to 222.

Tina Wiles, the tutor organizing the practice test, said in the listing that the session gives students a score report and a benchmark for where they stand before the official exam. Wiles has worked in test preparation for more than 20 years, according to her scheduling profile.
