Naperville kids and adults who've been waiting for their shot at community theater can sign up to audition for "Anastasia" on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27.

Magical Starlight Theatre, a Naperville Park District program, is casting its January 2027 production of the musical at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Ave. Saturday auditions run from 1 to 7 p.m. and Sunday auditions from 1 to 5 p.m., both on the center's upper level.

Actors ages 9 and older are welcome to try out for lead roles, supporting roles or the ensemble. Each person auditioning needs to prepare a vocal piece for the role they want, a monologue from the script and be ready for a dance call. Audition materials are available at magicalstarlight.org/auditions.

You only need to show up on one of the two days. Walk-ups are welcome and will be placed in the next open slot, but those who want a reserved time can register through the auditions page. If callbacks are needed, they will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 6 p.m.

One role is already taken. The primary ballerina dancer part has been filled, according to the Magical Starlight Theatre website.

The show is set in 1920s Paris and follows Anya as she tries to uncover the mystery of her past with the help of a con man and an ex-aristocrat. Performances are scheduled for Jan. 8-10 and Jan. 15-17, 2027, at the Naperville Central High School auditorium, according to the Naperville Park District.

Magical Starlight Theatre has been a Park District program since 1994, staging family-oriented productions including "The Wizard of Oz," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Peter Pan."
